It might not keep it from starting , but you have a vacuum leak none the less.

That is a check valve, find the plastic hose that connects to it. Can't be too far away. Or it connects to the "t" in your second pic.

That check valve is broke, and missing the nipple and short piece of rubber hose that connects it to the tee in your second pic.

Ha that is too funny that they are connected! But they are in opposite sides of the engine,

This will give you an idea of how it should look. I don't have a green hose or a tee on the line towards the rear because I don't have cruise control, which is where I think the green one connects to.

Here is a pic of the area in your pic, notice the white or gray tube in the background, mine is different because I have no cruise. Does your cruise work?

And BTW, on your front radiator support there should be a schematic for the vacuum lines.

I have no idea. I haven't even driven the truck yet. Bought it sight unseen practically,
