Anyone here use a laptop scanner such as the ElmScan5?

was just curious as to what you thought of it and if you liked the software such as scanmaster or scantool.

Thinking about buying a scanner and I would like one that is as full featured as I can find. It seems the laptops can log more data and display more than the handheld autoxray or actron devices.

I think the laptop based tools are the best. You can run the tool, watch a dvd and drive all at the same time! Doh! Ok, just kidding.

Check this one. http://www.autoenginuity.com/downloads.shtml
and the user guide http://www.autoenginuity.com/dloads/...user_guide.pdf

Sorry, I don't know.
What did autoenginuity say when you called them?

I use Ease Diagnostic with a laptop. Will do anything you want and reflash.

In your search engine type in OB2, and it should bring up a link for EaseDiagnostics. There you can see what it comes with. The basic scanner system comes with all the cable hook ups and software, it runs about 800.00. To add a laptop with it is about another 800.00, so that would be 1600.00 total.
