Default engine swap

hey evryone

my dodge ram witch is a 1999 1500 ram 318 blew the motor out of it and i found a motor our of a 1995 2500 ram van. would the motor out of the van work?

Yes those motors are pretty much the same. Just swap your complete intake with fuel rail and throttle body. More than likey the oil pan and pick up is different since you are going from a van to a truck. Double check the exhaust manifolds too. But those blocks and heads are the same from 1992 up to like 2002. No worries.

the 95 will likely have EGR, your 99 won't...make sure you block off the extra ports on the intake manifold etc. The van's I believe also have different accessory mounts which should swap over to the new motor.

EDIT: obviously the EGR problem would be solved with gipper's solution....way to read the 2-post thread through all the way....
