any hitch from a 1994 to 2001 1500 and 1994 to 2002 2500 and 3500 will fit on your 97.

 

i recommend the type that bolts to the frame. its a much stronger hitch. most importantly, it won't bend or shift your bumper. when your yanking on a stuck buddy, or he's yanking on you, you don't want to bend the bumper. they're expensive.

good catch above on the wiring pigtail, plus the ball mount, the ball, hitch pin.

watch out on the shipping charges. those things are heavy. that's why i just stopped at walmart and got it over with.
