Unhappy Transmission Leak

I replaced my tranny kit regulary. I use ATF+4. My transmission is leaking all tme. It's because the extension housing oil seal AND between the pan and gasket. I'm planning to replace the oil seal this weekend but I was reading that maybe the leaking in the pan gasket is because a plugged vent??????? What is that? Where is that?? How can I fixed????

i don't think we have a vent hose. i think the filler tube is the vent.

when you have the pan off, lay it on something flat and check for bend or warp. also look at the bolt holes. if they are dimpled in, from overtightening, put a block of wood or metal inside the lip and knock the dimples flat with a hammer.

knock on wood i've been lucky with mine. i've dropped the pan several times and it doesn't leak.

A tip my cousin gave me on my pan to get the warps out of the bolt holes is to put a deep well socket (just longer) under the pan and smack the center of the holes with the round end of a ball pien hammer. If you do it just right it will actually dimple them the opposite way a little and it will seat better once you tighten it down.

The best advice I can give on trans pan bolts is to follow the torque specs. If you overtighten it then it will leak like a son-of-a-*****.
