Default H/O alternator

have any of you guys upgraded your alternator to a high output one around 200-250amp? if so let me know where you got it and how much.

can our stock alternators be built up to this much

I believe there is a company call Mean Green that makes a 200 amp alt. Yes, there is: http://www.mean-green.com/products/200amp.html

bear in midd you should also replace the alt fuse with one that can cover 200 amps, and you should probably beef up that ground strap.

You can also check out http://www.wranglernw.com/ but they only go to 175. I recall at
one point when I was shopping around that powermaster made one for our trucks. I had
the alternator built up on my last vehicle and it was cheaper than buying a new one.

thanks guys for the info... i have a 5000 watt amp that is a current hog so i need to get an alternator that can keep my batteries charged (3 kinetik 2400s).

what is the highest i can get my alternator built up to?
