Strange Thing/P Code Info
Hey guys, I had a strange occurrence today...
I thought I'd rev my truck good just for grins...you know, to blow the soot out? Well when I did, it was like it hit the rev limiter at around 3K RPM...I did it twice to make sure. That was with a fast rev in neutral. During acceleration, there was no miss all the way up to 3500 RPM. Also, I revved it slowly in neutral, and there was no miss up to 3500 RPM. Weird... Could it be that the tach display was lagging behind the actual RPM of the engine?
When I did the key check for codes it only threw one: P0463, which is "Fuel Level Sending Unit Volts Too High/Fuel Level Sensor Input Above Acceptable Voltage." I do have the problem like many others with the sticking gas gauge from time to time, so I assume this is in relation to that, correct?
Any thoughts?

I'm too afraid of the tranny going kaput to go too hard.
