Need some help, has anyone on here rebuilt there transmission?

i have a 46re 2wd trans that i believe will need rebuilt soon so i was just wondering how hard is it and any special tools that are going to be needed.

Unless anyone knows anybody near pa that can help / do it ? thanks again

 

I am finishing mine up right now. I also have the 46re, but my truck is 4X4 so it is a little bit different because of my transfer case. It isn't all too tough to do if you have a pretty good nack for doing things like that. A transmission is very complex, but also kinda basic all in one. If you check my posts, you can see the problems I had that led to my rebuild. The only real special tool you should need is a shop press if you plan to rebuild the OD as well. My OD was running fine before the rebuild so I just left it alone.
