Default 285/75 on 16x10 wheels?

Just curious if I would be able to fit 285/75/16 on 16x10 wheels. I like the wide stance look of 16x10 wheels on Dodge trucks. I think it fits the style of a Dodge. But I only have a set of 285/75/16 because I don't want to fork out money for new tires until these wear out. Any negatives on 16x10 wheels?

The maximum recommended width for a 285/75/16 is 9.00" i wouldnt go past that, but some people do. if you like a wider stance and your in the market for new wheels, you can get a set of 9" rims with less backspacing, they will stick out more than a factory set. Reducing the backspace will lead to premature balljoint and bearing failure as well as adversly affect your steering geometry, of course the rate of the effect will depend on your driving habits.
If you want to run a 10" wheel you should go with a factory offset and a wider tire. Unfortunatly these trucks dont like factory offsets with larger tires because the tires will rub on the control arms while turning sharp. Sorry for not giving you a definate answer, but its food for thought.

I was thinking about the premature ball joint and bearing wear, so it may no be a good idea. Are 16x9 wheels common?? Usually 16x8 is all I can ever find.
