Just want to make sure!
Friends 96 Jeep Grandcherokee transmission broke near Atco Race in Nj some of you may kno of it way only has reverse so last night he made it half way home in reverse . That must have been a sight. So today he called me to see if i can pull it home with my truck so i did went easy with it didn't have to go up any big hills. But just wanted to make sure i did this rite when towing turn over drive off rite?
Also its time for an oil change since we bought it a while go its been getting Penzoil and a fram oil filter should i change it or just keep it the same. I think i have heard fram oil filter are poo this true? and is there something maybe better the penzoil?
Yes, tow with overdrive off. As far as oil... its up to you. I used to put in Mobil 1 synthetic until walmart jacked the price up 7 dollars and blame it on the hurricanes that happened forever ago now. So now I moved to quakerstate synthethic (horsepower or torque... which ever is 10w30). Oil is up to you. I personally am not a fram guy because I can tell their build quality is not that great. That is the only filter I have ever seen the seal stay attached to the engine block after you remove the filter. This has happened twice to my buddy who used the PH16 filter on his 2nd gen until I converted him to wix filters. I've never had a single problem with a wix filter. Average cost is about a dollar and a half more, but I get piece of mind. Again its all up to you. There is a oil filter comparison link floating around here somewhere. I think K&N was one of the top few off the top of my head which is very compairable to the Napa Gold (basically same construction if my memory serves me correct)
