i found out really quick, people in nc dont know ho wto react to any kind of presipitation. i am from upstate newyork where we get alot of snow. heck right now at my house there is about a total of 9 inchs and there is another storm on its way. so i can drive in it with no problems. NC got one snow storm this year and it was total of about 1 maybe 2 inchs of snow. nothing to me. i went with my buddies truck, threw the chain in the back of the truck and followed the cop around and pullin at least 9 people out of the ditchs around here. they completely freak out and dont know what to do. not to mention the jackasses with the 4wd that think they are unstoppable....
i had a guy, ford ranger, had his truck in 4hi, was doin 35mph, in a 30mph zone. no big deal for me. i saw the stop sign up ahead, i slowed down and thought to myself, what the hell is this guy doing? next thing ya know. right through the stop sign. i thought oh well, keep following him. next time, its a red light. so he tried to stop. didnt happen, i saw brake lights and then bye bye ranger. slid through the light and got hit by a 2nd gen ram 3500 12v cummins 4X4. felt bad (+1 for dodge). i got out of the truck, made sure everyone was ok, and the first thing out of the ram drivers mouth... and i quote " f-in ford drivers". i said to him, i take it your ok, he was, so i walked over to the ranger, asked him to step out. make sure he was ok, and i asked him what the h*ll were you thinkin? he told me these exact words, " i had it in 4wd, i dont know why it didnt stop in time".... here's your sign. lol

lol thats kind of how it was back where i used to live, farther south, it did take a lil bit more than an inch or 2 to call off school, but it always melted before like 10am and we pretty much got free days off for no reason

If you are on one of the indian reservations up here, they cancel school for 1/2" of snow. Where I went to high school, one county north of the reservation, our superintendent had this policy: He lives out on a farm, and at his farm is a full blown light pole in the center of his property, about a hundred yards or so from his house. If he can see the light pole, school is not canceled. Basically, if it ain't one h*ll of a blizzard, school is still on. One time he couldn't even make it into town because of all the snow we had, couldn't get out of his driveway. School was still on.

acsamples79,I have an aunt in-law who lives in Louisville. Any word on how much snow they have there?

My college is closed out this way too. Have around 5" down on top of what was already here. Guess were getting a few more this afternoon as well. Gives me plenty of time to install that remote start today
