The PVC contiuously rattles as the truck is running, I have replaced it but still the same. Does this mean I have a vacuum leak?

well, a good PCV valve should rattle, but your engine shouldnt run rough enough to rattle it. i have no idea how you could hear that little guy rattling though. Put a vacuum guage on the line and see whats up.

 

Sorry to threadjack, how often do we need to replace PCV's?

 

when they stop rattling, lol. youll notice some oil comming out around the PCV valve and probobly some oil consumption between changes. This happens because crankcase pressure builds up and gets forced out other places, usually seals and rings.
