Default Steering noise?

hello i have a 2001 dodge ram sport i'm getting a awful noise almost like a really loud creaky door opening thats coming from under the front end when i turn the steering wheel it does it whether the trucks running or not and it seems to be coming more from the passenger side but the sound is hard to pinpoint not sure if the steering stabilizer could make a sound like that or if its a ball joint or something any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks steve

First things first, check the steering fluid level. It makes a creaking sound when its low. I just topped off my caddy this morning for the same reason matter of fact.
