Default 94 5.2L magnum ?'s

I got a 1994 Ram Auto 318 5.2L FI. I have been havin problems wit it wanting to miss, cut out, shutter when ever. It has shorty headers, CAI, NO cat, and all the sensors have been replaced by new and no difference. It's not really going to be a Daily driver, more offroad. What would it take to switch it over to a carburated motor and get rid of the electronics on it. I would probably build the motor when these is done if it can be done. Can anyone help me with this any info would be nice.

Thanks Matt

did you check the fuel pressure?
the fuel pump could be going bad or have one of the injectors clogged

any smoke out of the exhaust pipe?

Hey Matt

I have a '95 that does the same thing, I found if you turn off the overdrive, it helps a bunch on the hiway. I checked the plugs and found #2 is where the miss is ~ plug is wet with gas. I've changed plugs and wires, still have same problem. I will change the cap and rotor next, but what a pain-in-the-*** to get to. Contact me if you have any luck solving this problem.

Joe

Well the injectors were cleaned through the service port. Fuel pressure was great.

I was wonderin if I could run a set of aftermarket set of heads for an old 318 then get the manifold to match.

I replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, button, and all other sensors and nothing still does the same thing.

Havn't changed the cap yet, I want to wait until the weekend when I'm off. The truck is running bad, but it is my only transportation for work. I did not physically remove the wire and test for spark since the plug is not firing. The cap looks like a big, hard job, and that is why I will do it on Saturday. By the looks of it, I will probably put a board across the truck and lie down to reach the cap for replacement. Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks

Joe
