leak in floor of truck
Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help me. My 99 ram 1500 is leaking water into the floorboad on both the driver and passenger side everytime it rains. THe truck has not been driven in a few weeks because of a separate issue. THe black plastic vents under the passenger side is wet. It is not coolant. It will fill up fast and wet sitting out in the rain. ANy suggestions where this may be coming from and how to fix it.
Thank you!

There is a seal around the cargo light that is prone to leaking. And as far as the HVAC goes that usually will just be leaking on the passenger side, but can't hurt to check it out. If you look on the passenger side firewall out under the hood, you will see hose hose sticking out down pretty low. Also make sure none of your door jamb weather stripping isn't torn or missing.
Thanks for the help. I sealed the rear cargo light and the hvac hose looks ok. I will check it. I think my heater coil is going out because of the film on the window and smell of antifreeze when I turn the heater or air off. The dampness in the floor is definitely water, though!
Thanks! I was afraid of the heater coil. I did not think it would leak fresh water during a rain parked in the drive. I thought it only spilled when running and only in the passenger side. What are your thoughts?

However, if you are positive it is only water on the floor boards, then it may be two seperate issues. That or you are running your coolant way to thin!
if it's fresh water from the rain that's puddling you might have a windshield seal going bad. if it leaks into you dash, then when you get the heater up to temp it will steam that water off that has been puddling in your vents for your defroster. If not that then you probably have a firewall seal gone bad or missing. take it to the car wash and have someone spray the windshield with the sprayer and see if you get water dumping in from that seal.
