Default SCT Questions.......

Ive been looking at the SCT and have liked what I have seen so far. But I found one on ebay and would like you guy's opinions and advice on it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCT-D...Q5fAccessories

Its being sold by a private party and I would have to take it to a dealer to get tunes. I know that a bunch of guys on here bought their's from Hemifever, but how much is a dealer going to charge me to write tunes for my truck? And is there anything I can do if it is VIN locked? And do you guys think something like this might be a good deal? Thanks for the info!!!

I believe if the tuner is VIN locked you have to pay an unlocking fee. Hemi charges 50 for any major changed to your engine, so maybe for him to write you a tune it would be that. You can always shoot hemi an email and ask him. As far as if this is a good deal...ebay is always iffy so idk. If hemi will write tunes for you and the tuner is not locked and legit then yeah id say so.

ask somebody that could unlock it. IDK if Hemi can do that, it might have to be sent to SCT to be unlocked.

You have to send it to SCT to unlock it. Not sure on price, they dont specify.

Yeah, I not goin to buy anything soon. I still got six months in Iraq......well if they send us when home when they said they were goin to! But I just wanted to get a few things straight before I get back. I have been trying to figure out if I wanted the superchips and save a lil money or just get the SCT and never have to buy another tuner. Thanks for the info guys.
