Trans Problems
Hi Guys
iam having an issue a 1995 dodge ram 1500 4X4 360 with 46Rh. I got a rebuilt trans since the other 1 was pretty bad it would warm up and no trans. I got the rebuilt trans from a online dealer. I got it in my truck and ran about 35 miles and lost reverse and slipping now. When i put in reverse it lunges forward a little and stops and put in neutral and i cant move the truck by trying to push it, I put in Drive 1st or 2nd and it seems to go forward. But like i said at times it seems to rev high like it slips to get it moving forward. I called the people i got trans from but i have a feeling the warrenty is not going to be honored.
Thanks for any help

Who did you get it from and what did they say about the warranty? Post your experiences here so we know to stay away from them. I lost reverse in mine and it turned out to just be that the rear transmission band had come out of adjustment. However, I never noticed any other issues before or after. Wayne had me check that and I tightened it up like he said and I haven't had a bit of problem since. Sounds like since yours is slipping it may be something else.
I had similar problems with newely installed tranny.
No revers or reverse sometimes.
Make sure your likange is adjusted correctly - its located right under driver feet under the vehicle in the wheel well area.
Put your vehicle in park and loosen the adjustment screw - make sure it moves freely on the shift rod.
Now move the shifter in the tranny back and forth between gears, with the firm move shift into PARK. Your shifter shoudl be in part all this time.
Now tighten back the adjustment screw.
Once the vehicle is on wait 5-10 seconds before switching to reverse.
Hope this helps.

well this is what i found out dealer says they think its valve body after i had to call them back since they never returnd my call after they were to find out what may be the problem. Dodge dealer mech say sounds like reverse drive clutch in rear or trans with springs and rollers took a **** probably. That not valve body or i would be able to push the truck when in neutral motor not running but i cant so its got something mechanical locked up inside the trans. warrenty is i ship and pay for shipping both ways. even though i only have 32.8 miles on trans. and then they assess the problem which i know they will say its installations issue to get out of paying for repairs. Its about 600$ for me to ship both ways. So i guess i take it out and take to a local trans shop and let them fix it and hopefully wont cost anymore then that and wont be down so long. since to get the trans it took 3weeks to get it. They only take cash no credit cards so i cant get my money back from this dealer here is his info if you want to stay away from them
