Default Need timing advice

I have recently rebuilt my 5.9l V8 in my 2000 ram 1500 and I was having trouble getting the timing right. How do I find the right alignment of the dist. gear to the cam. I have set the no. 1 cyl. to TDC. I cant find any marks on the gear to align to the cam. I am at a lose and i have tried trial and error but I am now tired of removing the intake. Can anyone help me

got dots on the cam and crank timing gears? set the crank to TDC and line the dots up. Don't worry about the distributor until you get the cam set right as it doesn't matter where the rotor points. Just put the #1 wire where it does then turn it back 10 degrees

t I already have the cam and crack lined up. It is not possable to put the #1 wire where the rotor points cause the intake is to tall and the distributer tabs hit it?
