Default Squeaky front wheel

This past week my front passenger tire has started to give a medium to high pitch squeak as I accelerate. It goes away after a while, but if the truck sits for a period of time it comes back. The faster I go the quicker the pace of the noise. When I slow down the noise pace drops, but it has the same pitch.

I do not think it’s the brakes as there is no change in pitch as I add pressure.

Suggestions?

I'd have the brakes checked out anyway.

I had a 1995 Dakota before the Ram here that had a squeak from day 1 of new pads. I was cheap at the time on auto stuff, and thought brakes are brakes, went with some cheap "lifetime warranty" metallic pads (don't do it!). From then on, I had a never ending squeak until the day I traded it in.

if your brake pads have the built in squealers (the little metal prongs that drag on lower part of the rotor), then it could be worn out pads.
or it could be a bad bearing or u-joint (4wd). jack up the front and spin and wiggle the wheel.

Maybe there is a mouse in the engine bay... I try to think outside of the box...

=P

Ya, what he said... jack it up and try and reproduce the noise while you can sit by it and see where its coming from

Total rebuild of the front brakes! I decieded to go that route after being told the issue was my brakes and that they were way past due for service. Sucks because when I bought the truck from "reliable" source I was told the breaks were rebuilt and only under a year old. But my "beast" went almost 200k with some hard driving on the orginal rotor's...

The cost does make me wish it was a mouse though.

Thanks for all of you help!
