I seriously looked into getting the new Edelbrock when it came out cause my M1/2BBL wasnt going to cut it for my new setup. Talked to a few that have the F1 Hughes modified version and their reactions were mixed. One loved it(near stock) 3 others were so so about it(semi to heavily modified). I had heard what the cost of the Eddy/Hughes was going to be and getting it across the border(to Cda) was looking at 40-80% more. Last Summit order was $888, to my door cost $1425! I would of got that intake ported, matched, decked & hi heat coated up here.(add 600+).
That would of been WAY too much for me to justify so yesterday I got an M1/4BBL instead from a good buddy. It had everything I planned on already done to it by same shop that did my block/heads(hes gone R3 block/454ci). Traded it for SMT6 (laptop tuning) and a new MSD BTM that I had so it cost me nothing out of pocket (850/3yrs ago).

As far as running carb goes. alternate to the Eddy/Hughes is the M1/4BBL which you can get cheaper. (find them used on the different forums) It has the same adapter plate arrangement.

id like to get this intake but it doenst have an egr valve. Can you just disconnect it and make a plate for the exhaust manifold?
