Default 46re to 47re Swap??

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Automatic Transmission

My 46re has taken a crap......My friend has a 47re in his V10 Ram that he just totaled, can I put a 47re in my Ram? I have a 360 Engine......does that bolt pattern line up?

Won't work. Can't remember why except the output shafts on the 360 and V10 are different sizes. I think the electronics are different as well.

Shoot, if it did work, there wouldn't be any more 46RE's on the road, they'd all be 47's!

Shawn, Rebuilt my 46re and you can upgrade trans to 47re by a few add on items. trans are close to same but with added clutches and such. My 99 i just had a band go bad and went through myself, added a Jr. shift kit with Amsoil fliud and it is just fine. Just thought i would send this as a idea to your problem.
