Question Carrier bearing going out every 4-6 months

I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 long bed with the 5.9L Cummins. It first went out in early January of 07' again in April it went out, then again in June of 07'. It lasted till yesterday. The truck is NOT lifted. I increased tire size from 265/75R16 to 285/75R16. Is there anyone who can help me understand why the bearing keeps going out as well as how to fix it for good?

All help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Could be a spline, U-joint, or bearing problem. Sounds like a balancing issue.
