how often you guys tighten your tranny bands i have 128xxx miles on her and dont think its been done, it shift like a champ though i dont want to tighten it if there is nothing wrong

If it ain't broke........ You have to remove the pan to adjust the rear band. So it's normally done when you change the filter. You can however do the front one without pan removal. BTW, you'll need an inch pound torque wrench.

+1 zman. If it ain't broke; don't fix it. I never adjusted my bands until I had to drop the trans out and do work on it. Now that I am taking care of my trans I plan to change the filter/fluid and adjust the bands on a regular interval.

+2. if it doesn't have a specific problem, leave it alone. just change fluid and filter.
