Default 2nd gen 1500 2wd DIESEL SWAP

hey guys just seeing what you guys think. i have been looking into swaping the 5.2 out and slapping a 5.9 CTD in. i have a 95 shortbed regular cab R/T replica. i want to swap out the engine and put a diesel in it wondering if anyone has done it. i know this topic has been beat to death. but anyways i hear everyone say it isnt worth the money but to me having a truck like this is everything. nobody has one. i own a small speed shop where i can work on it i just need the engine. ive heard if your going to swap to a diesel the 12 valve is the way to go. because of lack of wiring and so on. any thoughts would be great. its going to happen either way and ill keep you guys posted.

i think a rodded out short wheelbase diesel would be awsome, definatly a tire roaster! I have also heard that the 12v is easier to get cheap power out of, but i think if your going to take the time to do it, you would get better results with a 24v. i really dont know any of the specifics but i just like the computer engines more. On the other hand, the parts from the 12v will bolt right up to your truck because they are from the first phase of the 2nd Gen Ram. either way you should end up with a pretty mean street hauler. Im picturing a 5" turbo exhaust outlet comming out of the fender right infront of the door... badass,

you'll need new axles
no way in hell a 9.25 will handle the power of a 12v
go with the 12 valve btw, soooooooooo easy to work on, simple
and put a twin turbo setup, add nitrous, and water/methanol injection just for fun, and a better clutch if you go with the np4500 trans, don't go with the auto, itll never hold up to the power of a cummins tire shredder lol

yea i would like to find a 24v but they are quite alot more expensive. im thinking simplicity in this build. i want something that i can take to a track and murder everything there. i would definetly get a new rear end no doubt. and do something with the front end. i would rather keep the automatic trans because i live in a city where there is alot of stop and go traffic. i have a guy who has a built tranny thats supposed to hold up to 650 horse im not planning anything that extreme with this build. i just would like to be able to pull up to most everyone in traffic and blow their doors off while covering their pretty little rice burners with soot from my stovepipe!
