Unhappy 1995 Ram 2500 upshifts fast/no downshift

I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 2wd with the 5.9L gas engine. It upshifts through all the gears within 20 feet after letting off the brakes even when no throttle is applied. It will not downshift at all. The tranny does shift hard and pull hard with no slipping when you shift through the gears manually. I can not even find what tranny number I have much less parts. I have checked the TPS switch and the throttle linkages. The ABS light is on so I figured it might be the speed sensor but was told that it did not have anything to do with shifting on a 95 model. Does anyone have any ideas on what to check and where to get the sensor specs and locations? Thanks

that is a very odd thing you got there. im not sure what the problem could be but the location of the speed sensor (at least on my truck) is on the driver's side bottom of the tranny. it is plug with wires and a one inch plastic nut on it. i would have the diagnostics read if possible. that will tell you the problem. you can go to autozone and they will do it for you or you can buy a code reader for like 50 bucks.
