Default ECM trouble

Hey guys, i replaced my ECM the other day and when i put it in none of my gauges are working. Its a 2001 1500. do any of you know what the problem could be? any help would be great. thanks.

Replaced it with what? OEM from the dealer? eBay "swear it's an`01" special? Rebuilt? Short of the ECM itself being bad, suspect a dirty connection or bent pin.

When you get a new symptom after performing work, there is a HUGE probability that the problem is in the immediate area of where you were working.

hey, i replaced it with one from a wrecking yard because i dont have the $$ for a brand new one from the dealer. all the numbers match up and its frustrating the heck out of me.

Thanks for the welcome, SilverD. I got forced into retirement back in the summer of 07. Most of the time I spent here was while I was at work so ... no work ... no DF. I didn't realize how much I missed this place (and how much I learned here ... and then forgot).

spur_ride: Did you have your VIN and mileage burned into the PCM? Not that this will fix it but who knows? I've got a Hi Performance PCM that I didn't have burned and the seat belt warning light is on whenever I've got it in.
