i thought i saw someone mention that Edelbrock was making an Air-gap intake manifold for Magnum engines. whats the deal with this, i cant find anything on their site. i just joined the leaky plenum club and want to change intakes.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed, too. I thought they would work the price out a bit better than that.

 

well, you do get alot of stuff with it, but i can get all the fittings and gaskets alot cheaper than what Hughes is most likely charging for them. all i would really need is the manifold and TB adaptor. I wonder if they would sell them seperatly?

 

I would say not, but you could ask them...they might. It is a complete kit, which is good and easy. I guess the price isn't totally outrageous, but I was hoping for somewhere in the $400 range...oh well.

 

I kind of agree. It really doesn't put someone in the price range if they have a leaking plenum. There is a 500 dollar difference when you look at it that way. I bet they would sell a ton more if they dropped it down further. I think I could justify 400 like Ram2k1 said, but 600 will never be in my budget.

 

Ok, well lets look at it this way. $400 for the intake, $80 for the hardware, $10 for the gaskets, and by the time you get done with it.....now you have bout $500 in it or more. Its a lil high but really not that bad.

With the FI Air Gap, your getting a lot more than just a plenum fix. The reason the price is higher than you're used to is that it's a limited production run. Just think of it this way: you'll be the first on your block to have one.
