Ok all, I just filled up after my first good stretch of conservative driving. Only change to my setup was that I added a Flowmaster 50 Series muffler (3in in/out). I got 16 mpg on this last tank. I'll check it again on the tank i'm on now, but I basically have gone from 12 to 16. Awesome.

it's tough to drive conservativly isnt it? lol

I'd be happy with that 16 mpg and wouldnt change a thing. it's hard to get good mpg on these trucks.

No kidding. Escpecially when you got a nice throaty muffler, and your low end torque is improved. I want to mash it every chance I get.

I have the Fastman TB... a custom powdercoated red one:

I am a HUGE fan of his products. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person and he is just wonderful. He is all Dodge and his product is an outstanding upgrade. I felt an instant improvement with my 1994 5.9 360 on many levels.

Glad to hear yours worked out for you as well. I've never heard of an unhappy customer when dealing with Dan The Fastman.

Just to clarify, the group buy is not for the powdered coated TB. I think Amanda had that custom made for her.

Amanda, got any pics of your engine compartment. I'd love to see how it looks installed.

Since I am still getting e-mails from people wanting to know what my mileage is averaging, here is my last mileage update.
Last tank of normal driving, I got 16 mpg again. This is on my daily drive to work, which is about 60/40 city/highway driving.

This weekend, I took a 400 mile trip (200 each way). It is all flat highway with speed limit of 65 (I don't go much over that on those roads because they are patroled religiously by CHP, and I have been pulled over 3 time out there in the past). I filled up twice. Once after the first 200 miles, and again after the return 200 miles. On the way there, I got 17.7, and on the way back I got 18.1. This is about what I expected since it is nothing but flat highway. I had the topper on and about 200lbs of luggage and dogs in the back. We take this trip about once a month, and when I arrived at our destination that first night, I had about 1/4 tank more then I usually have. Same on the return trip.

Hope this helps for those looking to increase their MPG. Setup I have is working for me. Makes me think twice about doing the 4.11 gears, 285's, and 2" lift that I was planning to get started on in the next few weeks. Might have to wait for gas prices to come down before I do that.
