I tow alot of crap for work.. compressors, light plants, and crap like that. The most I've pulled was 2 loaded hay wagons.. they had about 150 bales the are about 40lbs each... so 6,000lbs each wagon... Towed them from the field down the lane and to the barn about 1/2 mile or so.. it was pretty easy.. but i'd never even think about doing something like you did!! the most I pulled on road was a 6,200lb skid steer on a tandem trailer... and I had lights

Ok first off some people on here need to figure out that there are times when you just gotta say screw it and just hook on to the trailer and get the job done. If you guys think that pulling a lil loader w/out trailer brakes is bad, maybe you need to come down to the farm for a while. I learned how to drive on a 65 2ton wheat truck, 4spd with a 2spd, and I cant remember when it had brakes....ever. The main thing is if you are goin to pull something really heavey, make sure you have 10ply tires and take your time getting there. And hey iwhitne, sounds like I need to move to Ohio. 40lbs bales would be great!!! What I would have given for those back when I was hauling!

Lets see...I drove a 2000 Cummins with a gooseneck with haybails on the back(dont remember any #'s)

Pulled my Blazer behind Purpl one time. Thats probably the most I've towed with the Ram. (Blazer is maybe 4500-5000 lbs.)

I apologize for telling my story. At the time i did not know how heavy the trailer was only after i had towed it i came up with the possibly high, but ballpark 11,500lb est. no, it was not smart and no i will never do this again. I was figuring on this trailer having the standard trailer brakes that are not electronic. Like i have already stated, in retrospect it was ridiculous. i would ask that you do not generalize that i am like "most people" that "will not learn" I have made many mistakes in my life but that's how people learn (granted sometimes the hard way as i found out). i am not going to make any excuses, it happened. There were many things i didn't think about when i was 17, I was dumb. still am about some things, but generally i am responsible. again, please accept my apologies.

i tow about 450 gallons of water + trailer 3 days out of the week for my house. handles good

I also tow a 22' cuddy cabin sea ray. unsure of its weight.. who thinks i need a brake controller for that? lol but it handles good and pulls it from the water like its on ice (smooth not sliding if it was sliding i would be out a truck and boat)

When scarp metal was as high as it was i pull a boiler out of my boss basement and had some other stuff so but when i pull on the scale at the scrap yard i weight 13,750. She pull it with no prom at all going down rt 1. Really did'nt want to go over 60 b/c i knew i was over loaded and did not want shi* for the popo. That was byfar the most i pulled and well be the last inleast crap gos back to what it was.
