How long has it been since you replaced the governor? And how long have you noticed it slipping? I'm not gonna lie I replaced my governor and transducer and 3 months later reverse went out. The inside of the tranny cooked itself. My truck did not have a trans-cooler on it I don't know if yours does or not, if it don't the damage could be worse then you think.

I don't know if you have been following my other posts, but I just finished rebuilding my trans and got my truck back on the road about a week and a half ago. It has only been slipping going into 2nd for about 3 days. I found that if I manually shift from 1st to 2nd to drive then it doesn't slip. This is what I have been doing until I can fix it. I have only been driving like 10-15 miles a day so it shouldn't be too bad.

Also, I don't know if there are 2nd gens that don't have trans coolers on them, but I know mine does and I am planning on taking the check valve out of the return line while i'm at it.

Well, I'll tell you what the guy told me when I got my tranny.
When you rebuild a transmission it either is gonna be junk right away or it will last for quite awhile. The check valve should've been taken out when you replaced the transmission. I don't know man just doesn't sound good. I hope that all is good, but sure sounds alot like my truck before I had to re-do the transmission. My truck wouldn't slip either if I shifted it manually from 1st to 2nd. Maybe the forward bands need to be adjusted.

P.S. Sorry I haven't read your other posts, haven't been on alot lately do to other things.

There is a DIY for how to do it. Basically you go to the auto parts store (AutoZone is where I went) and buy a pack (2 in a pack) of spark plug non-foulers. I think I bought the right ones (18mm). Then you drill one of them out to a 1/2 inch hole.

You unscrew your rear O2 sensor from your exhaust. You screw the modified non-fouler onto your O2 sensor, then the non-modified one onto that. Then you screw the assembly into your exhaust.

Basically what it does is moves your O2 sensor out of the stream of your exhaust so that it thinks the cat (that isn't there) is doing its job.

The non-foulers basically just act like spacers.

I junked my cat long ago, never threw a code.

I would recommend checking your accelerator piston spring while the pan is down, OEM springs are notorious for busting.
Is located on passenger side, have to take off a hatch with 4 screws to access it.
Of course, you'll be looking up at it when you see it.

That was a year ago that all of that happened but I do believe that it threw some sort of transmission trouble code.
