need your help on what ram to keep?
what to keep what to sell. ???
I have a 98 2500 5.9 auto. 106k , fastman 52mm tb accel coil, k&n cold air intake, jet chip.
runs ruff. needs injectors so I have been told. I have had it for 8 years now. no rust. nerf bars. ( im short) heated mirrors. quad cab. with rear doors. it needs ball joints.
I also have a 96 ram 2500 275k on the body and 130k on the 318 and tranny. it runs great. 10mpg with the plow on. it has a 9' boss plow. it is on its 2nd motor and tranny combo. the orginal 360 and tranny are on the floor of my garage they have 274k on them the 360 used 4 qts of oil a week. that is way the 318 is in it. the headlight switch is messed up . the lights work off a toggle switch. no nerf bars. rusty . front and rear bummpers are smashed. the front not so bad. the back a nice tree inprint. has a visor with lights. quad cab no rear doors. no heated mirrors. I picked up this truck 2weeks ago $3500.00. the guy who I picked up the truck got creative with a few things. sheetrock screws to hold the plow stick to the dash. sheetrock screws to hold the toggle switches in place.
my thought was to keep the 98 and put the plow on that. all the lights work great on the 98.

thats my question? what one to keep. the 98 with the plow from the 96 is what im leaning to. they both need some tlc but the 98 looks better from the start. I do like having a plow we had about 11" in the last week here. I have both rams in my driveway. both run and drive.

why dont you use the 96 has a parts truck.. take the insurance and registration off.. let it sit.. use it to fix the 98.. get the 98 to run like cherry.. and use the 96 for things that could potentially go wrong in the future, fuel filter etc etc etc.. take the battery out of the 96 put it in the garage on the charger and you have a back up battery available too.. not a bad gig.. but if your hurting for money.. totally make the 98 cherry and make the 96 good enough to sell. just like dakota said.
