2000 Ram 1500 Sputters
I love the Cherokees, this is Cherokee number 4. Gotta love the 4.0, indestructable. But as far as buying other Chryco products, I think the Chereokee will be my extent of that. No other chrysler cars for me, dont care for em. I dont really consider the Chereokee a chrylser product so much cause they were around before Jeep was a company of chrylser and share very few parts with other cars. All GM for me
O I guess I fibbed a lil too, we do have another chrysler car. An 04 Neon SRT4

you sure own a lot of DODGE products for someone who doesn't have anything good to say about dodge.....
I went from chevys all my life to this dodge ram I have now, and every vehicle from now on that I buy will be a dodge. I've had great luck with my truck, it's been good to me so far... Wife owns a Blazer that I work on more than she drives, gonna sell it and buy her a Durango or a Grand Caravan

I have the same problem on my 2000 1500 360, only mine always seems to do it up hill, and the air conditioning will switch from whatever i have it set on to vent and when i let off the gas it goes back, the shuttering seem to happon at the same time as the air conditioning. I dont know whats up with it.
As for the a/c vent selector, It's vacuum operated. There is a vacuum canister under the plastic cowel on the pass. side. I replaced it thinking that was why, but It does it anyways. Some say it's the check valve on the vacuum line on the front of the t.b. but I just think it's always going to do that. They are designed to default to the defrosters when under load and return to whatever your selection is when vacuum is restored. If you are having the both problems at once, you may need to follow your vacuum lines and look for a leak or test that canister with a vacuum pump. An old fashion way to find a vacuum leak is to take some starter fluid or carb cleaner and lightly spray around different lines while the engine is running and listen for the rpm's If it jumps a little you found the possible leak. Just please be carefull to not spray it at anything like exhaust manifolds or something that may ignite.
Here is a helpful thread if it has not been posted in this one already
