ok, so heres the problem. well, i kind of already know the problem, but i just want you guys to confirm it. a while back one of the bolts to my passenger side exhaust header broke off. well, ever since then, when it rains really hard or it snows(like it has been), i think the moisture screws with the egr and that in turn screws up my air/fuel ratio and my truck bogs down. loses power ya know? like i hit the gas, and it just kinda chills out like i didnt do anything lol. anyway, yea, thats the problem. i hope thats what i think it is. same thing happened to my dad. can anyone confirm this?
yeah i had an 89 f150 and in the mornings after it rained it would run like crap until i got it warmed up and it turns out it had a humongous crack in the cap
update, i went to start my truck tonight to pick up my wife. well it started and ran ok...then it started to bog down again just idleing. idk what the problem is. it has never just bogged down like that idleing. could it still be the distributor cap? or could it be something else? my check engine light has come on as well. idk. any help is appreciated.
If moisture gets into your distributor cap then your truck won't fire directly on time like it is supposed to and would cause it to run funny. I would definently check out that cap.
