i have a 1997 ram 2500 4x4 with the chrome bumpers, a while ago i backed into a light post, and the corner of the bumper is pushed in pretty far, and the whole right side is slightly pushed back. Does this sound like something a big hammer could fix, or if not, where could i find a new rear bumper, OEM or aftermarket, as long as it is chrome, and for cheap. i already checked ebay and craigslist and no luck there. thanks for any help
The bad news is, that you prolly aint gonna be able to straighten the bumper. The good news is that the rear bumber on these trucks is fairly easy to fab up. If it was me, I would get me some channel iron iron and start working.

You make it sound so easy! I am waiting for your to get back to the states to fab me up a front bumper! Or just sell me yours and you can fab yourself a different one!

Yeah, well if you wait till march of next year, Ill be back to the lower 48! But the back bumber is easy. Take your channel iron, and cut a small section off. Cut pie cuts off, bend the iron around and weld it. I would do it in about 30 degree sections till you get a 90 degree angle. Take your measurment, and now you know how much metal you need. In the center cut your box out and weld in filler plates for where your license plate goes. If you actually want to put your hitch there, then you reinsforce where the ball goes to the actual brackets. It would be too easy to build one. I cant wait to get back to get my front bumper re-done.
