I was burning 1/2 qt per 100 mi before I had my plenum fixed. So 1 qt per 100 mi is possible.

And as for what happened to the truck during your sister's usage...I wouldn't be loaning my stuff to her again. lol

i learned my lesson. she said it would smoke alot when it needed to be filled. head gaskets were replaced soo plenum is what im thinking but it doesn't smoke the entire time like just when it needs to be filled. im not much of a mechanic more of a carpenter sooo im stumped throw me out some ideas and ill relay em to a mechanic here.

You're going to be looking at: plenum, cat, front O2 sensor.

If you really wanna get stuff going have the timing set done as well along with the distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires if they haven't been done in a while.

My Jeep grand Cherokee has the 5.9 in it, I wasn't burning nearly as much oil.. Only 1 quart every 3k miles maybe a little more.. But I had horribly pinging, the jeep engines require 91-92 octane because of our more aggressive ignition timing and burning oil made it worse for me..

I was driving it like that for over 2 years, finally tackled my plenum 2 months ago and I haven't lost a drop of oil since, just listen to them when they say change the o2 sensor... I didn't and my mileage actually strangely in my opinion dropped AFTER my plenum fix.. but I got a new sensor and it went right back to normal.. I haven't done my cat because im too poor at the moment.. BTW my gasket wasn't really "blown" like everyone says on these forums.. it did have a slight bend in one spot as you see in the picture on the bottom... My gasket however was HARD as a rock and very very brittle.. I think that is what causes the oil loss more then them being pull outward or blown like everyone says
