Default Bringing a 97 2500 back to life

Hey guys new to the forums. I have a 1997 Dodge 2500HD with the 5.9L gas motor. Unfortunatly last year I had to take it off the road and it has been sitting since about may of last year. Looking to get it back running again. It has 213k on it right now and was running great before I had to store it for a while. I have to get the battery charged because its dead but I was wondering if there are any other things I should go over, or do before I try starting it up again. Already cleaned out the air filter and intake assembly to make sure there were no mice that made a new home in it, as well as dumped in some HEET into the fuel tank to displace and mositure that had built up. What else should I go over? I know its going to need some work to get going. Any tips or info is greatly apreciated.

i would personally drain the fuel tank and put in fresh fuel. do a full tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor). id even put some motor oil down the spark plug holes directly into the combustion chamber, let it sit for a while to coat everywhere and seep past the piston rings. change the oil of course. check the coolant condition. fire it up, check for oil pressure immediately.

+1, only difference is I would pour MMO in the spark plug holes.

Thanks for the help guys, gonna get started on it this weekend and hopefully get it back up and running. Wish I never had to take it off of the road and park it in the first place!
