Grill Options
Yea, I went to the paint shop today and got me a couple cans of paint, the bull dog primer, and regular primer (just in case I need to do some filling)
Got most of the foil off today had to quit because it started raining, but I will take some pics tomorrow of it all sanded down like it is. Its all been done with 60 grit, and then I will smooth it up a little with 320. I am going to have to find a better epoxy to use besides what I got though to fix the cracks in the grill.
I did see that metallic paint in the shop today, and almost considered it as an option, but I really didnt want to be known around town as the guy who drives the Christmas Tree truck

I stripped a lot of the chrome off a grille and it was a pita. I just used a small knife. I didn't get it all off and just stopped and haven't yet finished it. It was a pita and since I put a all chrome grille on mine that I like the look of better anyway I didn't have a reason to really repair this one.
I have an I was in the garage doing it, but when the front moved in, it went from 70 to 45 in like 10 minutes. Not to mention, I am using an air powered sander, and I dont have masks right now, so I didnt want to be in a sealed garage sanding on this metal, and plastic.
Well most of it came off. I had talked to the guys at the paint shop and they showed me a couple of grills that they had done the same way. They swore up and down that you can do this with out removing all the chrome foil. They just said to remove the bad parts of it that are bubbled and rusty.
The more things I do to this truck, the more and more I get pissed about the body shop that worked on it.
The damn bolts holding it on were torqued down hard enough to stretch the bolts out. the more foil I remove from it the more cracks I am finding that are right in front of a bolt. Good thing I have a whole bunch of bondo
