ok so question will this fit under the stock skid plate I do go off road to I dont want it to be let in the field like a few other parts.

Wow, what a detailed write-up aim, very impressive. If I ever grow the kahunas to dissect my tranny and do something along these lines, I should be able to perform most of it from this write-up. Nice job!

nice write up squirrel. that'll be a nice addition to the diy. the pictures add so much.

and damn that's a deep pan - i cringe at the thought of the $dollars required to fill it up.
edit. for you guys looking at deep pans, be careful and don't mix up the mag-hytec 727-D and the 727-DD. the D is a little oversize and costs about $225. the DD is huge and costs about $270. watch out for some of the others that claim to be oversize. they are oversize compared to 518/727, but not deeper than the 46re, which has extra depth for the solenoids. somewhere i read that the summit pan is not even deep enough to replace the stock 46re without grinding fins out of the inside.

and - the major question is - how's the transmission doing ? shifting ok, feeling good ?
