I was under my truck last night looking and noticed that my plenum gasket is now leaking antifrezze down the front of the block and that my axle seals need replaced. Is there any brand of axle seals i sould use or does it matter?

I've never had a problem with the brands available at Autozone or O'Reilly's.

If you have never replaced the seals in the front, do a lot of research before you tackle the job. You need a special tool for the right side and you have to remove the carrier to do the left one.

I plan on doing alot of research before I change it. Plus i'm going over to a friends to do it since they have done it before on their 97 1500. So he may have the tool for it too.

You can buy a seal kit with the tool here www.quad4x4.com , and pavementsucks has a write up on how to make your own.
