Yes, but the Fastman bores out the entire TB for the 5.9 (52mm) and puts new butterflies in. Not dissing your skills, but unless you do the same, the Fastman's will be better.
I know that the Fastman will look better and probably flow better to get me an extra 1/10 of a horse, but for the 15 bucks I payed for my TB, modding it myself seems like a better choice.
It wont work. As I recall, you used to have a first gen dak. The older trucks have a different linkage than your '01.
I plan to switch out the shaft from my stock TB. The only difference between the two is how the TV cable hooks up. The one I'm modding has a ball, while the stock one has the little disk thingy. If that doesn't work I'll just modify the ball so it will work with my '99 TV cable.
Are you just gonna hand sand it and use a micrometer to measure or have it bored by a shop?
I'm gonna use a 52mm drill bit on a drill press or a milling machine. Then use sand paper/emery cloth to smooth everything out the best I can. It shouldn't be a problem since I'm not messing with the area where the butterfly valves sit. We'll see how it goes. Today all I got around to doing was shaving off the little risers around the holes. Friday I'm gonna attempt to drill the holes out.
I have a "home brewed" throttle body and love it. Since your idle is controled by your IAC your speed should not change unless you mess with the throttle stop screw (which is plugged off) or overbore the butterflies.
Your stock TB should be 50mm and while you may squeeze a few more ponies out of the top end with a fastman 52mm, I guarantee you'll notice a big change in your low and mid range torque with the homebrew.
Other intake mods and computer flashing only enhance it.

So if you drilled the stocker straight through with a 50mm drill bit, you would be good with the stock butterflies? Where do you even get a bit that size???
You don't have to drill through, jsut deep enough to remove the hour glass restriction about halfway down the bore.
A big machine shop would have one. I used a tapered stone myself.
