Default Any issues towing with a Sport?

I'm thinking about buying a RAM and am looking at a couple '01 Sports. Neither of them comes with the Class III hitch receiver that a lot of the other models seem to come with. Is there anything about the Sport that makes it a bad solution for towing? Like maybe the bumper, suspension, or something else creates problems for towing?

I tow ~5000lbs, so will either get a class IV or class III with load leveling. Anyone have a recommendation for a good hitch receiver that will fit an '01 Sport?

I did a search here, but didn't find anything that addressed the issue.

Maybe I could just go to a junkyard and pull an OEM hitch receiver off of a RAM that came with it?

Thanks guys, -Scott

Doesn't sound like it has the tow package, so you should add a tranny cooler. Even if it does have a factory one, aftermarket coolers are better. Besides that, keep it out of OD when you tow like mentioned above and you should be fine.

And ride height, decals, wheels, headlights! Other than that, sport or non sport, some come with and some come without the tow package. Therefore , the tranny cooler is rather important.

You don't have to tow it everyday...

It's a Dodge Ram, so you only have to tow it every other day!
