Ok so i have been doing research on this website and my Hanyes manual for about 2 days now, so if the answer is on here, please dont be mad. I got a 97 ram 1500 5.9, 4 spd auto, 4x4. About a year ago i got a cel. pulled code p0740, so i did some research and im going to replace tcc solenoid. First of all, i cant find it, second, the parts store needs to know if i have a 46re, 46rh, or 42re. i dont know what to tell him. now I actually know a good bit about trucks. ive done 3 engine swap and rebuilds. so i pulled the trans, pan, i replaced the neutral safety switch, and before i put the pan back on and fill it up, i wanna replace that solenoid. if anyone could help me out with how to locate the solenoid and how to distinguish my trans, i would appreciate it. thanks in advance.
