Oil Pressure Questions

Hello
I have a 96 Ram 1500, 5.2 engine and my oil pressure gauge is giving me distrubing news. When I start the truck it reads 45-50 lbs for the first 20 miles or so then start fluctuating between 30-40 lbs. It does not seem to be RPm related as when I push in the clutch and the RPMs go from 2000 to 500 it seems to go up.
Now when I make a hard right turn it has started dropping to 0 then comes back up when the turn is completed. Left turns, stops or accelerating seem to have no effect. The motor has about 100k on it and uses no oil and runs great. I have not put a mechanical gauge on it yet as it seems to be buried near the back of the engine.
Any thoughts if is could be the sending unit, gauge or if the oil pressure is actually doing these thing what could be the cause?
Any help is apprciated.
