Weird problem help
Well I am at work and will be leaving home and going through lovely Trenton NJ on the way home. When I got to work today I noticed the truck running slightly rough and the done light was flickering as well as the rest of the lights, it varied in intensity with the engine rpm.
If you reved it up the lights were fine. While it was doing this it stalled and everything went dead, like the battery was disconnected. I popped the hood and as soon as it popped all the electris was back. I started it up fine, it cranked strongly but as I backed it up to park it did it again, no juice at all. After a second or 2 the electric was back fine as ever. I just tried starting it and it cut out mid crank not it is dead in the water.
I am scared to drive home with the truck like this. I am hoping someone could give me some tips to check out. The battery terminals are clean and tight as far as I can tell. I do not see any other loose wires. I recently had my water pump replaced along with the timing cover gasket. The battery is about 6 years old and it seems like it is fizzing slightly. The alternator guage has been reading high
Any help would be appreciated.
