Default pondering new exhaust

i am happy with my current exhaust system and its sound level but am considering a dual system. the current setup i put on when i first got the truck and it had manifolds only. rest had rusted off. i have headers a y-pipe in place of cat then the 02 sensor and a flowmaster 40 that dumps under the passenger seat. like i said i don't mind the drone but feel like i am losing hearing everytime i drive the thing. what i am planning is making another y-pipe in place of the flowmaster and doing a dual straight pipe exhaust. i found a kit on summit that sells for 140 and comes with a turbo muffler that i will just thow away. this seems like the cheapest way i have seen besides going to the muffler shop and having them do every bend for me. My friend had a straight pipe set up and it sounded really good but i never asked hi about mpg. since i don't have inspections and dont mind it loud my only reservation is the mpg. i know when the truck is just manifolds/headers the mpg is horrible. i am thinking that a dual exhaust will provide just enough back pressure to maintain my current mileage. i would love to hear from anyone with a similar setup about this issue.
sorry for the long post and thank you in advance!

yea, i would like one but i have always wanted duals and would rather put the money towards that. i am thinkin that it wont be nearly as loud in the cab with the exhaust out the back anyway. any thoughts on the mpg vs now?
