My Redneckalicious Dodge...
Finally fixed the pic pictures...andi wanna hear more about the wet sanding too....i have had some headlight issues with them going out....for no reason.....they will work then start flickering....and its worse if i try to use high beams.....
Just take like a 600 grit paper to them first, DONT rub very hard with that grit, just enough to kinda scuff it up.
Then WET sand on them with 1000 grit or higher. They will look really cloudy, but get some headlight polish from your auto parts store (like 5-6 bucks).
That is all I have done in the past and it works great, but I think there are some other people on here with some different procedures that work too.

I did it to my truck. I have Sylvian silerstar ultra bulbs. I thought they where $40 worth of crap that I bought. Then I did this and WOW!!!

Buffing the lenses won't fix your intermittent headlight issue. The chances are good that the wiring to your multifunction switch (in the steering column) is faulty ... if not the switch itself.
Well i got a replacement switch off ebay to try for $20bucks with shipping and i am gonna try that first....my base model truck doesn't have tilt steering so i am hoping nothing in the column has been screwed up over time.....i am slowing working on this bit of a basket case trying to cover one problem at a time.....
failure of the headlight sw is a lot more common than the multifunction sw. also a lot easier to replace. try that first.
i replaced my multifunc sw only because you have to remove the damn thing to test it. so once its off, the hell with it, just put on a new one for $42. i hear more about broken wires in the column than bad mf sw. you'll need a long skinny torx and hollow secrity torx to remove mfs.
i cleaned my headlight lenses with a dremel tool buffing wheel and rubbing compound. 2 minutes and they're crystal clear and your done.
