i have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 4x4..when i bought it the guy said reverse was out, well i was driving daughter to school and got the green light and gave it alittle extra gas(accelleration). the trans made a grinding sound and started slipping and didnt want to go..i sta for about 5 mins in park and put it back in drive, well i had to tap the gas several times to get it moving..after a couple block it started shifting agin real smooth 1-3 no slipping..came to a stop and it started slipping again..anyways got it home..started it next day..drive is out and reverse starts working again...whining sounds while in park..when i give acceleration in park you can tell trans is still ingaged....is this a bad torq converter or trans?? dropping pan tomarrow to check for shaving or the powdery sustance one of you fellows had mentined in a past thread.. also will a trans out of a 95 cargo van swap out ok? van has a 3 speed trans but truck has push button overdrive.... thanks to all that replie
