Default 2001 Dodge Ram performance

I am e new owner of a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L gas truck. What are the best performance upgrades to get more MPG and what are the best products to use?

There's a pretty long list.

I started with the following

Hughes Plenum kit.
New timing chain and gears set a 3 degrees advanced
Hypertech set to 93
Pacesetter Header.

I did the paccesetters because I already have 3.96 gears in my truck but, if I had the 3.55 gears I would have done those before the headers and gone with 4.10

Did you or a previous owner put in the 3.96 gears?

Reason I ask, not to be a jerk or anything, but our Rams didn't come with 3.96 gears from the factory. The options were 3.55, 3.92, or 4.10, and the 4.10s were only available with the Off Road edition.
