Default Improving ride on 3/4 ton suspension

I just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 and I love it. I think it has the original shocks with 40,000 on the odometer. It rides a little rough which I figured it would, would replacing the shocks improve the ride? If so what is the best brand and type of shock?

All depends on how much you want to spend on shocks.

Replacing the shocks won't give it too much smoother of a ride. Could through a sand bag or two in the back as some members have suggested on here, it might help.

Ahhh, this discussion again. First off, do a search on your topic. You'll find many threads on it. It all depends on your preference. Some say Bilstein shocks work, others like Edelbrock IAS.
