How does that stack up against Rhino Lining, the Rhino in my truck has some gouges in it and I was thinking about buyng some of that stuff to fill them in.

I know a guy who did that to his second gen RAM2500, its a white truck, and it looks sweet, im thinking about having it done in silver when i do some body work.

 

I've been wanting to do it myself, but then I see some truck that has an ugly *** home made bed line and I think twice. Another option, instead of painting the bed caps with lining is to just buy some bed caps. Hey Blueram, THAT came out nice!!! Keep us posted if it starts to chip, peel or bubble.

 

I put two coats on it las august on my truck. and i'm going to have to put another 2 coats on it. It grips good but does not stand up to the rhino liner. Rhino liner is thicker but has no grip.

 

The actual prep work I did was to sweep out the bed as best I could, then wash it down real good with a trisodium phosphate solution, dry it good, scuff the entire bed up with the scouring pad that came with the kit, then wipe everything down with Acetone (I did this twice just for good measure). That was the real time consumer of the job. So far so good. I toss things on it pretty hard and it seems durable. I put my tonneau cover right back on over it.

I only coated the bed rails because whoever had this truck before me used it for some type of heavy work. The bed rails had multiple scratches down to the metal some of which were starting to rust. The herculiner covered the rust spots right up, where those plastic bed caps would allow the rust to get worse. I'm very happy with the way it looks with the bed rails coated though, no regrets.

 

I have a plastic bedliner and stuff is constantly sliding around. Looks like this Herculiner has some grippage to reduce sliding. However, I don't think I'll coat the tailgate. I'll keep the plastic protector there so I can slide things across the tailgate.
It's nice to know that a gallon will do the 6ft bed.

Is there a trick to knowing when to remove the tape for the top of the bed rails so the liner coating is set enough vs. set too much that it's difficult to remove the tape?

 

it holds up great.. i did 4 coats on my rockers and will be putting 4 more coats on this summer... I'm doing this because i never applied the UV sealer and it all faded... so this time I'm going 4 more coats (1 gal.) and sealing it with the UV sealer

 

I friend of mine did like 10+ work trucks with the bed liner with Rhino liner they asked for less grip when they got them done. The use the trucks for mulch and it is nice to have some slide for stuff in the bed. Its a good Idea if you hall a lot of gas. I like it and want to do the rockers I still have all the info on how to do them. I think with the new wheels on they need to be done 1st.
